Speaker Bios

Chris has over 17 years of progressive experience in technology management and is an outspoken proponent of the open source culture for building more competitive and successful businesses. Chris is currently Chief Executive Officer of Sparksight, an interactive marketing and event management agency based in Austin, Texas.

Chris' vision and business acumen has led him to serve a wide variety of international organizations including the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Computer Associates, IBM, and most recently Vignette Corporation. Chris has spoken at conferences around the world, providing unique and innovative business strategies that leverage open source technologies and the Internet to address sales, marketing and operational challenges.

In addition to his leadership for Sparksight, Chris also maintains a vigorous role in the board of directors for Open Source Matters, Inc., the Association for Corporate Growth and the Austin Interactive Marketing Association (AIMA). Chris is also key member of the Foundation Working Group for the Joomla! Open Source Content Management project.

Chris holds a bachelors degree in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
