Mark Q. Niederauer, Ph.D.

Chief Technology Officer, EO2 CONCEPTS
Dr. Niederauer has more than 20 years of experience in engineering, product development and manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and electromechanical and bioabsorbable medical devices. Experience ranges from the design and commissioning of pilot and production facilities through quality control and assurance, manufacturing of pharmaceutical and medical grade products, and regulatory and ISO/FDA compliance.

Dr. Niederauer has worked for Bayer Chemikalien in Leverkusen, Germany, Hoeschst Celanese in Corpus Christi, TX, and for OsteoBiologics, Inc. (OBI) in San Antonio, TX. After the acquisition of OBI by Smith & Nephew Endoscopy, Dr. Niederauer assumed the role of Plant Manager for the San Antonio Site and had overall responsibility of the facility and site management until the plant was relocated and closed in December 2009.  Dr. Niederauer is currently the Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Operations for EO2 Concepts in San Antonio, TX.  

Dr. Niederauer earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biochemical Engineering, with a focus in Genetics, from Iowa State University.  He is also a Fulbright Scholar, earning the equivalent of a Master of Science degree from environmental engineering work at the Universität Stuttgart in Germany. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University. Dr. Niederauer has co-authored numerous articles and presentations and is a co-inventor on several patents.
