Jay CampionCo-founder & Managing Director, Access Venture PartnersJay Campion is a co-founder and Managing Director of Access Venture Partners (www.accessvp.com). Based in Austin, Jay has over thirty-five years of experience in the formation and management of companies. He recruited Woodside Fund III to Texas and was a Special Limited Partner of that fund for fourteen years. Prior to joining Woodside Fund III, Jay was the President of the Texas Research and Technology Foundation (TRTF) and Ventex Group, Inc. its venture capital subsidiary.Jay has considerable university-related technology transfer experience, having funded several companies formed around technologies transferred from major university systems. Jay also has extensive energy industry experience including President and CEO of a refining and marketing company and a senior manager for a large independent company with refining, natural gas liquids and production facilities. Previous investment successes include Cerebro Vascular Advances, a clinical research organization, which was merged into Quintiles (QTRN) for a 50X return, and OsteoBiologics which was acquired by Smith & Nephew (SNN) at a 23X TTM value. Jay serves on the board of directors of QuickArrow and American Innovations. Jay received his B.S. in Business Administration from Regis College, Denver, Colorado. He is an avid grandfather, and spends free time working on his hunting lease in south Texas. Jim Hayes is Chairman of the Board, Applied Measurement Professionals, Inc. Olathe, KS. Prior to becoming Chairman, he was general board member for 19 years. |
