Jeffrey Reich, CISSP, CHS-III, CTMChief Security Officer, RackspaceJeff Reich has developed a history of entering situations where little to no security infrastructure exists, or an existing system needs updating. He is a Security Executive with extensive experience in building and leading high performance security teams. His background includes successful programs that have dealt with security management, security policies, information security, internal controls, physical security, internal investigations, liaison work with local and federal law enforcement, personnel protection, regulatory and audit compliance, business continuity planning, abuse/policy enforcement management, crisis management, general office management, problem management and change control. Jeff holds CISSP certification, CHS-III designation and has held many offices, with many honors, in organizations such as the Information Systems Security Association and InfraGard. He was a Nominee for 2005 National Information Security Executive of the Year and 2006 Southeast Information Security Executive of the Year, both sponsored by Executive Alliance. In September 2006, he was granted a Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from The Council for Service Management Education and The Information Systems Examination Board. He has conducted training and served as guest speaker at numerous conferences and seminars. Jeff is a contributing columnist for SC Magazine. Beginning with the inaugural issue, in November 2005, Jeff was a regular columnist for and Chair of the OptimalSecurity Magazine Editorial Advisory Board. Jeff Reich recently returned home to Texas as the Chief Security Officer for Rackspace (www.rackspace.com) in San Antonio. Jeff leads the Risk Management, Security, Compliance and Insurance programs. Jeff created the Information Security Officer position in Atlanta, Georgia for CompuCredit (www.compucredit.com) and held this position until moving to Rackspace. CompuCredit (Nasdaq: CCRT) is an information and technology driven provider and direct marketer of branded credit cards and related fee-based products and services offered to prospective customers on an unsecured basis. Jeff heads up the Information Integrity and Governance team at CompuCredit, directing efforts in Information Security, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, ITIL, Change Management, Quality Assurance, Audit Management and Regulatory Compliance. Before CompuCredit, Jeff served as the Director of Information Security and Controls for Interland (www.interland.com). Interland (Nasdaq: INLD) is the largest Web hosting and online services company dedicated to helping small and medium businesses achieve success by providing the knowledge, services and tools to build, manage and promote businesses online. Jeff lead the Information Security and Controls area directing the Corporate Information Protection, Network and System Security, Abuse Management, Policy Enforcement, Vulnerability Assessments, Policies and Business Continuity Planning functions. Jeff’s previous position, for five years, was with CheckFree (www.checkfree.com) as the Chief Security Officer. CheckFree (Nasdaq: CKFR) is the leading provider of financial electronic commerce services and products. They work with financial institutions, Web portals and organizations that issue regular bills or statements to give consumers the ability to receive and pay bills online. Jeff was a Vice President and served as the General Manager of the CheckFree Austin, Texas location. His responsibilities included Security Management, Privacy Management, Risk Management, Business Continuity Planning, Safety and Physical Security Controls and Monitoring for twenty locations along with management of life safety programs. Prior to working with CheckFree, Jeff implemented and managed the Information Protection function at Dell Computer Corporation (www.dell.com) in Austin, Texas. Before Dell, Jeff was with ARCO Oil and Gas Company in Dallas, Texas. Jeff has been actively involved in the Information Security community for some time. He was the Director of Education for the InfraGard Capitol of Texas Chapter. In addition, he is a past president of the ISSA Capitol of Texas Chapter and a past Vice President of the ISSA Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter. He personally wrote a large percentage of the RACF requirements submitted to IBM from GUIDE International between 1986 and 1992. He presented hundreds of educational and training sessions. |
