Ryan M. Confer

Chief Operating Officer, INNOVATE TEXAS FOUNDATION
After completing a bachelor of science in business administration from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, Ryan immediately began work in Governor Perry's office providing financial analysis for a number of state economic development initiatives. Ryan's versatile business perspective fit nicely with the newly launched Texas Emerging Technology Fund, and Ryan was asked to join the fund as one of the initial investment managers. During Ryan's three-year experience with the $500M Texas Emerging Technology Fund he oversaw investment of over 100 early-stage technology companies, aiding in the fund’s designation as the "Most Active Early-Stage Technology Seed Fund" in the United States.

In December 2008, Ryan helped launch Innovate Texas Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to market technology commercialization resources and act as a catalyst for technology commercialization transactions in the state of Texas. He currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Innovate Texas Foundation. Since moving to Texas, Ryan has engaged in a number of entrepreneurial pursuits. In May 2009, Ryan received a master of science in technology commercialization from the University of Texas at Austin. During his graduate program, he served as an advisor for a variety of start-up technology companies where he successfully negotiated technology licensing agreements from AAU member universities, recruited executive management and directors, and helped start-up companies secure angel and venture funding.

In addition to his current role with Innovate Texas Foundation, Ryan also serves as the Chairman and CEO of Consumetrics Inc, a Texas corporation that develops real-time wireless location systems. Ryan also serves as the Chairman and CFO of Gurnade Inc, a Texas corporation that designs and develops automotive products.
